San Francisco: Trans Day of Remembrance (TDoR)

November 20th, 2016 at 3pm
Trans: Thrive

We hope you will join us again on November 20th to honor those we have lost and build momentum to end the violence against trans and GNC communities.

Event includes a dynamic panel of Trans/ GNC POC advocates, memorial film, performance, and community gathering to share love and support.

As you may know 2016 has been reported as the deadliest year for the trans community. Despite increased visibility, trans people continue to be murdered in unprecedented numbers, specifically trans women of color.

TDOR is brought to you by a volunteer planning team and community partners including:
TAJA’s Coalition
TRANS: THRIVE
Trans Employment Program
SF LGBT Center
El/La Para Trans Latinas
and more!

Together we can put an end to the violence against trans people!

Los Angeles

Sunday, November 20, 2016 10am – 6pm Gender Justice LA 1730 W Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles, California 90015

Join Gender Justice Los Angeles for Queer Care. The morning will be a by-donation Healing Clinic where you get to work directly with queer healers + herbal practitioners for individual sessions. These will be by a first-come, first-serve basis.

The afternoon will have free workshops on health and community healing, and many opportunities to meet your local queer herbalists, healers and medicine-makers who will be vending their incredible plant + earth-based remedies.

QUEER CARE STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: We are a group of queer radical herbalists organizing intentionally as a multi-racial collective with diverse class, religious, and ability backgrounds. We are committed to healing justice, radical mental health, and class accessibility. We aim to create and support community for queer herbal practitioners and folks seeking herbal healing, via educational events, skillshares, and workshops that center herbalists of color and resist cultural appropriation. Because of the ways in which capitalism and government regulation control and commodify sacred and community-based herbal traditions, we seek to contribute to an alternative model of access to herbal medicine.
