“It has been a complete honor to work with Transgender Law Center for this year’s Trans Day Of Remembrance. Speaking to Jill and Isa about the incredible work their organization does on the frontlines moved me in a way that really connected me to their struggle. To try and capture the beauty, strength, and resilience of our transgender sisters in detainment was both a challenge and honor to execute respectfully.”
Transgender Law Center
Transgender Law Center changes law, policy, and attitudes so that all people can live safely, authentically, and free from discrimination regardless of their gender identity or expression. In 2015, Transgender Law Center launched its Detention Project to end the abuses transgender and gender nonconforming (TGNC) people experience in prisons, jails, immigration detention, state hospitals, and other forms of detention, as well as at the hands of law enforcement. November 15-21 is a #not1more National Week of Action, and the artwork for TDOR will support Transgender Law Center’s participation in the week and the campaign to free transgender immigrants from ICE detention.
